  The College Team

We are honored and privileged that Dr Rajan Sankaran and Dr Divya Chhabra are patrons of ACCH. Rajan and Divya are leading exponents in the field of homeopathy who persistently push the boundaries of homeopathic development. An integral part of the ACCH is its faculty and management team. We are privileged to have on board, staff with a wide variety of backgrounds and skills, who are all committed totally to the principles on which the college is based.

Many of our faculty members are past graduates of ACCH; and all possess relevant teaching qualifications. All of our tutors are current practitioners of homeopathy, as well as being members of a professional industry body. As such, they bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their teaching.

Continuing tutor development is of paramount importance to the College and we encourage our staff to up skill by attending regular seminars (both international and local) and study groups; as well as reading widely.

Derek and Patricia Briggs, the College Founders, although now retired, continue to take an active interest in all areas of College life.

Paul Briggs became a Director of the College during 2004. Paul�s background is in business development, and his expertise lies in marketing and business planning. He oversees core structure and coordinates College direction. He is the serving Managing Director of the College, and lives in Grey Lynn, Auckland with his partner and their two children.

 

 The College Administration

Geeti Persson is the Quality Assurance manager and  business development consultant for the College. Geeti joined the college in the early 2005 to manage the quality system process within the college as well as assisting in the further expansion of ACCH. Her background is in Business Development, Immigration and Education. She is a holder of a Batchelor�s Degree in Business Managment and Information Technology, and the ACCH is pleased to have her experience and skills to draw upon.

Nicola Stewart is the College's office and enrolment coordinator. She has a background in Natural Therapies, recently graduating with Diplomas in Naturopathy and Medical Herbalism. With her practical knowledge and experience in office administration and processes, she has made a welcome addition to the ACCH team.

Suzy Acar is a Registered Nurse and ACCH Homeopathy graduate as well as being the ACCH office manager. She has been practising as a homeopath in Istanbul, Turkey for the last 2 years but has recently moved back to Auckland. She has worked for various corporate organisations both in NZ and abroad. Being bi-cultural, she has a particular interest in cultures, people and lifestyles! Loves travelling, nature, yoga, history and enjoys socialising, meeting new people and of course homeopathy! Suzy is a recent asset for the ACCH, and is well placed to combine her administration skills with her knowledge and passion for homeopathy.

The College Faculty

 

5Jeannette Bennett is Associate Principal and a senior tutor at ACCH. Jeannette shares the responsibility for the management of the teaching programme and for the implementation of a progressive syllabus with Kathy Thomas.Jeannette teaches modern homeopathic philosophies to the senior students at the college. She has a particular affinity for the works of  Rajan Sankaran and Jan Scholten. She practices homeopathy from her clinic on Auckland's North Shore. She likes to spend her spare time with her family, and her hobbies include Dog Agility and Dog training.


4Kathy Thomas shares the role of Principal with Jeannette Bennett. With over 20 years experience in adult education, Kathy is passionate about teaching homeopathy at the college. She runs a practice from a lifestyle block in Kumeu which she shares with her husband, two children, a goat, three cats and a rabbit. If she is ever lucky enough to get any spare time, she likes to mosaic, read and write books and spend time taming her very wild garden.

3Ann Gulley is a senior tutor and teaches acute prescribing, materia medica and medical science. Ann is a registered nurse and brings a unique homeopathic perspective to our knowledge of the human body and pathology. She is the Medical Science co-ordinator of the College. Ann is also on the committee for the NZ Council of Homeopaths. She still finds time to run a busy homeopathic clinic in Avondale.

Dr Pratibha Dalvi (BHMS) is a qualified doctor and homeopath who is a close colleague of Dr Rajan Sankaran. Originally from Mumbai, India, Pratibha now runs a busy practice in Auckland. She teaches philosophy and materia medica, often through the analysis of clinical case studies which gives her the opportunity to apply her vast knowledge of classical homeopathy, both in its traditional and modern guises.


1Sally Birks
is a homeopath of almost twenty years standing. Her experience and skills are well recognised in the homeopathic community. Sally has recently undertaken a Masters degree in health science in homeopathy. She teaches materia medica and repertory at the College. Sally lives and works on Auckland�s North Shore. 


Pathma Driver
is highly qualified as a pharmacist, and later as a homeopath, graduating from the London College of Classical Homeopathy. She has a strong commitment to continuing professional development and supervision. She emigrated to New Zealand in 2003, and joined the ACCH in 2004. Pathma is Malaysian by birth, British by marriage and now resides in New Zealand.

Ruby Kiran George has been a Homoeopathic consultant for the past 16 years.  She completed a Bachelor�s degree in Homoeopathy Medicine and Surgery from Bombay University, India. She has been trained under Dr. Rajan Sankaran, Dr. Farooq Master, Dr. Majumdar, Dr. K.N.Kasad, and other great Homoeopaths. She was the Director of George Homoeopathic Centre and Aashray Vocational Guidance and Counseling Centre in Bombay, India for many years. 
At present practicing at the Henderson Medical Centre Pharmacy as a Homoeopathic Consultant. Has a passion for teaching and imparting her rich experience as a Homeopath.

The College also invites guest tutors to teach various topics throughout the year:
Roz Lyall is a senior homeopath and runs a practise in Henderson, Auckland. She has a background in nursing and has extensive experience treating acute ailments.

Irene Chain is a graduate of ACCH and a midwife. She has been a practising midwife in New Zealand for the past 12 years, and are currently managing The Wife Swan Midwifery Group in Mt Roskill, Auckland, whose philosophy is to support the use of complementary therapies in the community.

Tutors

Elsje Winnubst has been practicing homeopathy for 20 years. Currently completing a Post Grad Diploma in Ethics, she enjoys furthering her education at every opportunity. Elsje is also the Pastoral Support Officer at the ACCH. She loves gardening and collects exotic plants. Passionate about human rights, Elsje is also involved with freedom writing for Amnesty International.

Julia Schiller is an American who was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.  She has a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis.  She immigrated to New Zealand with her husband and son in 2000 and shortly thereafter began her studies at Auckland College of  Classical Homepathy, graduating in 2004.  Julia's practice, Glendowie Homepathy, is located in Auckland's eastern suburbs.  Julia has an interest in taxonomy and published an article on this topic in Homeopathic Links 4/05.

Shelley Dowler has run a part time practice in Riverhead, Auckland since graduating from ACCH in 2002. She considers herself , family and friends very fortunate that she discovered how efficiently homeopathy worked on her young children 13 years ago. She has a passion for holistic health and a great respect for our body�s ability to heal itself, given the right support.

Bala Duraisamy joined the ACCH team earlier this year. He holds a Masters degree in Medical Physiology and has taught medical and dental students in India and Nigeria. He migrated to NZ in 1997 with his family.

Kate Wylie is a naturopath and medical herbalist and she also works at Huckleberry Farms in Greenlane. Currently, she is employed by ACCH to tutor medical science classes. Kate has a special interest in traditional medicine and enjoys educating lay people on healthy lifestyles and positive lifestyle attitudes.

Estelle Kruger has a Masters Degree in Homeopathy which she gained from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. Estelle has extensive experience in primary health care in the rural areas of South Africa, and joins us to work with Ann in the Medical Science area of the ACCH.

Assessors and Mentors
In addition to many of the College Team above taking up the role of mentor for students within the college program, we are also priveleged to include graduates of the college in the capacity of both assessors and mentors.

Leigh Marsh graduated through the Auckland College Of Classical Homeopathy under the auspices of Derek Briggs and later to get his Advanced diploma.He has a clinic in Ohope, Bay Of Plenty called East Bay Homeopathy.He is also a registered Homeopath and currently assesses student work for the College..

Farid Ahmed was  born in Bangladesh and has been in New Zealand for nineteen years. He trained in mechanical engineering (diploma) in Bangladesh. then studied Homeopathy both Diploma and Advanced Diploma with the ACCH.
A paraplegic since an accident in 1998, he is happily married with a lovely daughter. He now lives and practices homeopathy in Christchurch.
                                             

Mary Tonner qualified as a Homeopath from the Auckland College of Classical Homeopathy and is a registered member of the NZ Register of Homeopaths Inc. She has a Practice in Oamaro, South Island. As well as running her own Practice she has tutored at the homeopathic college, is currently a mentor for the college's distance students, and gives presentations at seminars and talks to local community groups. She has also worked with the Homeopathic Health Consultants group, presenting seminars to Midwives groups throughout New Zealand.

Mary consults with clients around new Zealand as well as in the United Kingdom, Australia and other parts of the world.  She believes in working alongside any other professionals that her clients may have previously been consulting, and may still wish to consult.

Barbara Moran graduated from the ACCH in 2001 and has a clinic in Browns Bay on Auckland's North Shore. Barbara says "Learning homeopathy gives great insights into what drives people, how the world works, and most importantly, your own personal development."

Glenys Siriett graduated from the ACCH in 1990, and has practiced part-time since then.  She was secretary of the NZ Institute of Classical Homeopathy for 8 years and instrumental in bringing together three different homeopathic registers in New Zealand to amalgamate into the New Zealand Council of Homeopaths.
Glenys has a background in nursing, and has worked in the market and social research field for 25 years.  Both of these fields being a very useful adjunct to homeopathic understanding and practice.

Jan Thompson graduated from the Bay of Plenty College in 1994 and has a clinic in Warkworth. She was previously a midwife and retired early so that she could gain more experience as a Homeopath. Jan " I enjoy the unique approach Homeopathy has for understanding the individual and how Homeopathy gives humanity an alternative health system.  In 2005 my friend Jackie another Homeopath and I visited Hahnemans grave in Paris; we felt humble and so grateful to be following his teaching. I enjoy reading biographies and travel stories and am learning Chinese Brush Stroke Art".
