Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students The Auckland College of Classical Homeopathy has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Eligibility for Health Services Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit you may be liable for the full costs of the treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicity funded health services are available through the ministry of health, and can be viewed on their web site at www.moh.govt.nz
Accident insurance The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at www.acc.co.nz
English Language Competency International Students must be able to demonstrate competency in written and spoken English if English is not one of their primary languages. English language requirement is normally assessed by the following internationally recognised testing systems � IELTS and TOEFL.

The college reserves the right to conduct an interview by telephone or face to face where applicable with all international students.
Immigration Requirements If you are outside New Zealand and planning to study full time for more than three months, you will need a student visa and a student permit.
Application Requirements Visa application forms can be obtained from ACCH office or from: www.immigration.govt.nz/forms. To get a student visa and permit, you have to be enrolled in an approved course at an institution that has been accredited to offer that course.
Y our Application will require: � A recent passport-size photograph � Offer of Place � Evidence of payment of the tuition fee � A written guarantee from a New Zealand education institution or person that suitable accommodation is available to you in New Zealand. � Evidence of sufficient funds to live on while you are studying. � A return air ticket to your country, or evidence of sufficient funds to buy one.
For courses longer than 12 months, you will also have to provide medical and x-ray certificates that are less than three months old (for students intending to be in NZ over 9 months, see the paragraph below regarding Screening for Tuberculosis). If you are over 17, a police clearance certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions for International Students
1. Do I have to have medical insurance?
Yes. Medical insurance is compulsory for all international students studying in New Zealand. We can arrange this for you or you can provide us with evidence that you already have insurance, before you can commence your course. If you do not have medical insurance then you may have to pay the full cost of any medical treatment you receive in New Zealand.
2. How do I pay my fees?
Once you receive your Letter of Offer and Invoice you need to pay your fees, before your student visa application can be lodged. Please contact us for details of an ACCH partner immigration agency who will help you with this. More..
3. If I withdraw from the course, or if my attendance in the course drops, what will happen?
In the first place your enrolment may be terminated from the course. Secondly, by law we will inform New Zealand Immigration. This may mean that your Visa will be revoked.
4. Can I work part time while I study?
Yes, one condition of a New Zealand student visa is that you may work for up to 20 hours per week. You may also work full-time in the Christmas Holiday Break period.
5. Who can help me if I have a problem while I�m studying? The College has a Student Advisor and a Pastoral Care Officer who is employed to assist international students.
6. I am under 18 years old. Can I study at the ACCH? In general, no. However, if you are able to demonstrate a commitment to homeopathy, have a stable support environment in Auckland, and will turn 18 within the first 6 months of your course we would assess your application. 7. What if I have a complaint? You are able to speak with management at any time, either directly or by discussion with the Pastoral Support Officer. During your induction you will be given more information about the complaints process.
8. What is the �Code of Practice�? The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students is an important document from the New Zealand Ministry of Education. It sets standards for the pastoral care of all international students studying in New Zealand. ACCH complies with and is a signatory to the Code. 9. Can I start my course and then organise my Visa afterwards? Definitely not. It is very important that you have a valid Visa before you commence your course.
10. What documents should I bring with me? It will make your time in New Zealand much easier if you bring the following documents with you: � Birth certificate � Marriage certificate (if applicable) � Academic qualifications � References from previous employers � Curriculum Vitae � Credit references � International driver licence � Important medical records and prescription information
11.What sort of clothing should I bring to New Zealand? The weather in New Zealand can be changeable. You should bring a variety of clothing that can be used in warm and cold weather as well as in the wet.
