| Course Structure |
The College offers a total course of 4800 study hours including face-to-face, self-study, research and assessmens over 4 years, blending the advanced teachings of Vithoulkas, Sankaran and Scholten with traditional Homeopathic teaching.
Current experience within the education community of professional homeopathy (ECCH European Guidelines for homeopathic education 2000) shows that effective education in homeopathic practice takes a minimum of three to four years of full time study at a diploma or degree level. The ACCH offers face to face and self study and research which is four years full time study. Students are required to be actively involved in supervised case taking and on going case management with a minimum number of ten patients with three follow up consultations for each. The student is the primary case taker in each of these cases.
ACCH differs from other homeopathic courses offered in New Zealand in that more face to face hours are offered to students over the four year period, and in that the content contains new emerging homeopathic methodologies and philosophies. Students develop research and audit skills to be able to discern these new paradigms that are offered.
The course is unit standard based with 427 credits
The Diploma course also gives students the opportunity to work one on one with a tutor as they complete a minimum of ten clincial cases with three follow up interviews to the standard outlined in the assessment. Students are assisted into clincial practice with their tutor acting as supervisor, educator and examiner Practical aspects of setting up and managing a homeopathic clinic are also addressed.
