�Essence � Certificate in Acute Prescribing (NZQA Level 5)�

Using Homeopathy for simple acute conditions, ESSENCE is the first year of the�National Diploma in Homeopathy as well as serving as a stand alone certificate course, which equips the student with the theoretical and practical skills to effectively prescribe homeopathy in acute, or first aid, situations. The certificate course also provides the student with a solid foundation from which to build any future training in homeopathy.

This is a one year course that is a prerequisite to the National Diploma�in�Homeopathy�Course.
It assesses the unit standard of Acute Prescribing.

U/S 14766� ��Use Homeopathy for simple acute conditions
This is a level 5 unit standard with a value of 20 credits.

Modules of learning include:

o�Philosophy � The Organon, history, development, and principles of
homoeopathy. An introduction to modern philosophies.

o�Repertory � An introduction to the repertory and its application in practice. Repertories employed include Kent and Boericke.

o�Case Taking for Acute Cases. � The development of observation and communication skills needed to gather information relative to a case.

o�Case Assessment for Acute Cases � The analysis and synthesis of case information in order to be able to prescribe a remedy.

o�Case Management for Acute Cases � Learning how to follow up of a case after a remedy has been given.

o�Homeopathic Pharmacy � The manufacture and dispensing of homeopathic remedies.

o�Materia Medica � The study of 40 major remedies useful in acute conditions.

o�Therapeutics � The study of some common acute�illnesses and investigating appropriate�homeopathic solutions.
